Analytics firm Sensor Tower published estimates of Grand Theft Auto VI pre-order performance in mid-October 2026. These are estimates, not figures from Rockstar or Take-Two.
The numbers
- As of October 13: about 6.08 million US digital pre-orders, roughly $594 million in revenue.
- Around October 20: about 6.45 million units and roughly $630 million.
- Between 149 and 45 days before launch, GTA VI reportedly sold 148% more digital pre-orders than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 did at the same point in 2022.
Platform split
PlayStation 5 reportedly accounts for about 74% of those pre-orders and Xbox about 26%.
Caveats
Sensor Tower counts US digital pre-orders only. Physical copies and other countries are excluded, and the totals differ between reports because they were published on different dates. Rockstar and Take-Two have not confirmed any of these numbers.
