On November 6, 2025 Rockstar announced that GTA VI would move from May 26, 2026 to Thursday, November 19, 2026, citing extra months of polish. That is the date used on storefronts, the official site and our pre-order guide.
Delay timeline
- 2023–early 2025 — Take-Two pointed to Fiscal Year 2025, then Fall 2025. CEO Strauss Zelnick told IGN in February 2025 the team felt “really good” about that window.
- May 2, 2025 — First slip: Rockstar set a calendar date of May 26, 2026, paired days later with Trailer 2.
- November 6, 2025 — Second slip to November 19, 2026.
- June 2026 — Cover art and pre-orders (live June 25) confirmed the November window publicly.
Pre-load & stores
Take-Two said digital pre-load begins November 12. Physical boxes, where sold, contain a download code rather than a disc. Pre-order bonus cutoff for the Vintage Vice City Pack is November 20, 2026.
Platforms
Launch platforms are current-gen consoles only. A PC release has not been announced for day one. Last-gen PlayStation 4 / Xbox One are not supported.
